Gary gets to 300

We're not talking about his age folks, but how it has taken ages (26 years) for Gary White to muster up his 300th game in Subbies, which he achieved in the Round 13 1st XI fixture between Kew and Altona. He was fresh off helping Peter Frencham celebrate his 400th game the day before, and by coincidence, they partnered each other in their first games with Subbies all those years ago.

Gary has steadily worked his way to this magnificent milestone. And if you have been lucky enough to have worked with him in one of his 300 games, you will no doubt have had a fun time working with him. Always gets a couple of gags in before the game, which is something of a ritual for this bloke, and it is a great way to get you relaxed and ready for the days play.

Gary has been a great asset to our ranks and in his 26 seasons, he has also taken on the President and Secretary roles. He has clocked up 29 finals appearances with a 1st XI Grand Final amongst those, and he is slowly creeping towards doing his 200th 1st XI game. Well done Gary and we look forward to you achieving many more noteworthy milestones.

PS: Many thanks to the Kew & Altona Cricket Clubs for acknowledging Gary's achievement with a Guard of Honour.
